Gharaonda hindi movie
My pick from Hum Dono is the short, sweet, santoor-kissed 'Jahan Mein Aisa Kaun Hai' sung by Asha Bhosle.
Unfortunately, Jaidev had a falling out with Navketan and never worked for them again. Jaidev, powered by Sahir Ludhianvi’s lyrics, rose to the occasion and how! The fantastic score of Hum Dono sounds as fresh today as it did in 1961. Jaidev’s persistence and loyalty was rewarded in 1961 at the age of 42! When Navketan was looking to make the music for Hum Dono, SD Burman was unavailable due to some illness and Jaidev was chosen. These films were Taxi Driver (1954), House No. In the 1950s, every Navketan film had SD Burman’s music and Jaidev assisted SD Burman in most of them. In this post, I pick 10 songs from Jaidev’s 10 best film scores. Later Jaidev worked as assistant to SD Burman before breaking out on his on with Joru Ka Bhai (1955). He assisted Ustad Ali Akbar Khan in the two films he composed music for – Andhiyan (1952) and Humsafar (1953). When the Ustad went to Bombay to work for films, Jaidev accompanied him. The Ustad was responsible for Jaidev’s return to Hindi films. Jaidev received formal training from several gurus including the legendary sarod player Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. In the mid-1930s he took a break from films and dedicated himself to learn music.
His career in Hindi films started in the 1930s as a singer-actor in a few films. Jaidev Verma was a child prodigy who could play the harmonica when he was only five years old. After more than three decades in the film industry, he had only about 40 films to his credit. Despite his talent and the critical as well as popular acclaim many of his albums received, he wasn’t rewarded with the commercial success or name recognition that some of his peers enjoyed. Do Diwaane Shahar Mein – Gharonda (1977) ( link to song and lyrics)ģ.Jaidev was one of the most talented composers of the Hindi film industry. GHARAONDA HINDI MOVIE MOVIE
Songs and lyrics from the movie Gharonda:ġ. The decision point finally occurs in the end when Modi (Shreeram Lagoo) gets a heart attack, and Chaya nurses him back to health Sudip realizes that she is gone from his life forever, and leaves. Sudip starts seeing his plan going awry, and then when Chaya scolds Sudip for visiting often, he gets puzzled. Soon, Chaya settles in the life of a married woman, and wonders of wonders, Lagoo starts getting better. Chaya is not comfortable with this idea, but accepts it after persuasion. Lagoo is rich, alone, and a heart patient, and they figure that he will die soon after marriage, and then Chaya will be a rich widow. However, they are in for a shock when in a few months, the builder runs into difficulties, and all their money is lost.Īt around this time, their boss and the owner of the firm, Shreeram Lagoo starts getting more interested in Chaya and then the couple make an audacious plan. They are not yet married, but plan to get married when they have bought a house and for which they paid all their lives savings. Like other middle class citizens, they drea, of owning a house in Mumbai. Sudip (Amol Palekar) and Chaya (Zarina Wahab) are colleagues working in the same office in Mumbai.
The movie starred Amol Palekar, Zarina Wahab, Shreeram Lagoo, and Jalal Agha. The movie was directed and produced by Bhimsain, with some great lyrics by Gulzar and music by Jaidev. The movie was released in 1977, and became popular as a movie with emotions, and some great music. I was very impressed with the movie, even though the movie can leave you down a path where you feel that life can go very negative, and where events can happen that leave you feel disillusioned with life. Gharonda is a movie on that concept, on the quest of a young couple to have a house of their own. The quest to have a house of one's own is a very strong impulse, capable of stirring up strong emotions in any person.
